So here is a little guideline to some questions you might have.
Why should I buy from your Store?
We have all been "burnt" buying from the USA, with surprises at the exchange rate, expensive shipping or all those damn added costs of duties, taxes and brokerage fees.
You are buying from a real CANADIAN Surf Shop and we have taken care of all those surprise costs before the product even lands at our store.
We ship directly from our Shop and don't use any middle-man 3rd party drop shipping dude. So don't expect any surprises.
We are located on Vancouver Island and have been here since 1998. Drop by anytime to see us, we are open 7 days a week.
We don't usually ship to the USA or any country aside from Canada, so if you're ordering from another Country, we'll get back to you with the proper shipping rate and you can decide if you'd like to proceed with the order.
How do I place an order?
I think most of us have been through this process before, it's pretty simple -
Browse though our Website until you see something you need or want (or both)
Select the orange "Add to Cart" button and then "Continue Shopping"
You can "View Cart" at anytime and make sure you have the correct products and quantity added.
Once you are ready to "Checkout" please fill in all your details, this way if we need to contact you we can get hold of you. Again make sure all the details are correct and click the orange "Proceed to PayPal" button.
You DON'T have to have a PayPal account, just enter your credit card details and continue (PayPal is secure)
There... you're done, now we'll do our part.
Shipping
We use E-Shipper which surveys all the major carriers and chooses the least expensive option.
We'll try to use recycled boxes and materials whenever we can, so don't be surprised when your T-Shirt, Wax and Ding repair kit arrives in a recycled bootie box.
Purchasing a Surfboard or Stand up Paddleboard (SUP)
Boards are pretty fragile and SUPs are big, so to ship these across the county can be costly.
We don't ship boards, you may however purchase a board now, but it will be for pick-up only at our store on Vancouver Island. If you wish to have someone pick the board up on your behalf, we will gladly pack it very securely for an additional $40.00 packaging fee. The board will leave here in new condition and we will not take any responsibility for any damage. After purchasing a board, please call us Toll Free at 1(855)594-5452 during business hours to confirm pick up details.
What if you have to return something...
Shipping in Canada is expensive so please make sure that you have picked out the right product and size before you confirm your order.
We are just a small independent "Mom and Pop" store, not COSTCO, so if the fault is ours we will cover all the shipping costs, however, if the fault is yours, you will have to mail the item back to us at your cost or come to the store and exchange it.

2.1 How do I apply for a job?
Island Surf Co. is a dynamic, fast paced environment that can some days be super busy with families coming in to rent surf boards, paddle boards and gear, gather information on an upcoming surfboard/SUP purchase, purchase a wetsuit, or just browse our ever changing inventory. We pride ourselves on great customer service and we are not a high pressure sales centre. We want to give our customers all the available information on their purchases whether they leave with an item or choose to buy it elsewhere.
If you like interacting with the public, have a pleasant phone demeanor (we get a lot of phone calls) and are a quick learner (the surf industry is always changing) then we want to hear from you!

3 Return Policy
3.1 Return Policy
Return Policy:
- Within 2 weeks if you are not satisfied with your purchase you can either refund or exchange the item or receive store credit. The item must not be worn, washed or damaged in any way or we will not accept the return.
- Returns made after 14 days up to 60 days may receive store credit.
- No returns after 60 days.
- For out of town exchanges the buyer will be responsible for the cost of the return shipping and any new shipping costs.
- You may also exchange your item in person at our store located at 3464 Brittain Blvd, Qualicum Beach, BC, V9K1W2
- No refunds on surfboards, paddle boards, Onewheel, sale items or wetsuits that have been worn.
- All sales outside of Canada are final.
